Winter Mountaineering Course
Preparation for high ridges and peaks in winter, safety and mountain education.
About the activity
Do you want to climb high ridges and peaks in the Carpathians in winter? Would you like to see Europe from Mont Blanc or other famous peaks? Should the ice axe, crampons and the rest of your gear be your support, yet they don't give you enough confidence? You need Door2Outdoor! On the winter mountaineering course you will learn how to be prepared for unexpected situations on the mountain.
The objectives are to improve safety on the mountain and develop mountain education. The workshops cover: an introduction to winter mountaineering through theory and practice; presenting personal technical equipment and its correct use; managing avalanche risk situations; technical belaying skills (anchors, rope belaying, moving as a roped group, abseiling, useful knots and systems).
